How to publish a document

Note: Publishing only makes sense for the User Guide.  FAQs and HOWTOs are effectively always published.

What does publication mean?

It means that the document has achieved a certain level of quality, completeness and consistency.

Who publishes the document?

We have some technical editors in our team.  They have the experience to know what publishable content looks like.  Hence, they are the ones who publish content.

If you are an experienced tech writer, please join our editing team.

How does this relate to peer review?

The objective of peer review is to distribute the work of writing a document.  And also, to perform most edits and corrections before it reaches one of the editors.

Without peer review, the tasks of authoring and editing would be prohibitively difficult.

How is a document published?

If you are an editor, this diagram shows the basics of the publication process.
